About

Residencies, reimagined.

Densi is an Australian, artist-founded platform changing the way artists discover and access residencies worldwide.

Every year, thousands of artists seek time, space, and inspiration beyond their studios. At the same time, hotels, retreats, and homes sit empty between bookings. Densi connects artists with residencies and creative spaces, both locally and globally, removing the barriers that have kept these opportunities out of reach for too long.

Our Story

Hannah and Azzmin have been friends for over twenty years. They grew up together, built careers as working artists alongside each other for over a decade, and shared most of the milestones in between.

In 2023, sharing a studio, they kept arriving at the same frustration when applying for art residencies. The whole process was taking them away from their practice. Despite their experience, artist residencies always seemed to be designed for someone else. The barriers were the same every time: long applications, high fees, academic language. The application process felt less like an invitation and more like an exam.

After many conversations, they realised that the spaces artists were searching for already existed.

Houses sat empty, overlooking valleys. Hotels stayed quiet between the seasons. Studios, retreats, every kind of refuge an artist could dream of, were scattered across the world, simply waiting. Time, space, stillness, nature, and the company of others were all already there. All that was missing was a way to open the doors.
