About Densi
Densi is a platform connecting artists with residencies locally and globally. Built by artists, for artists.
Densi was born in 2023 inside a shared studio in Australia, where founders Hannah Carrick and Azzmin Frances kept arriving at the same frustration — how inaccessible artist residencies felt, and how much they seemed designed for someone else.
Despite over a decade of experience each, and commercially selling their work, the barriers were consistent. Long applications, high fees, academic language, and little to no feedback. The door to meaningful residency opportunities felt closed — not because the spaces didn't exist, but because the connection between artists and spaces had never been made simple.
That frustration revealed something else entirely.
The spaces artists are searching for — hotels, retreats, homes, and unique environments full of stillness, nature, and inspiration — already exist. They just weren't easily accessible. And many of them were sitting underutilised, with no simple way to connect with the artists who would thrive in them.
After taking part in an informal beachside residency in 2024, something shifted. It showed how transformative the right environment can be for creative practice — and became the foundation for what Densi is today.
We exist to bridge that gap.
Densi connects artists with both formal and informal residencies globally — opening access to spaces that already inspire creativity. For hosts, Densi offers a way to step into contemporary creative culture, welcoming artists who bring storytelling, engagement, visibility, and lasting cultural value to their spaces.
